We will warm up together using basic yoga postures, release technique, and breathing exercises. Then we work with improvisation based on simple tasks and scores. We will focus on internal complexities and contradictions of the body: To think our body as a dissonance harmony, not one solid unity.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Yukiko Shinozaki is a Japanese choreographer and dancer based in Oslo and Brussels. She has studied contemporary dance and psychology at Portland State University in the U.S. From 1993 to 1997 she lived in NYC, where she presented her own work at venues including the Judson Church, St Mark’s Church, and the Merce Cunningham Studio. She also danced in productions by Meg Stuart, Yasmeen Godder, Raimund Hoghe, and many others.
